[ § 82 SGB III ]
You're employed and want to upskill? Under the Qualifizierungschancengesetz (QCG), your employer covers the training cost – and is funded for it by the Employment Agency: up to 100 % of the cost plus a possible subsidy towards your wages. You bring the idea; we guide you and your employer through the application. Full-time or part-time.
[ what is it ]
The Qualifizierungschancengesetz (QCG, § 82 SGB III) makes it possible for you as an employee to upskill without giving up your job or paying the cost yourself. The applicant is your employer – the funding flows through them, and the Employment Agency supports them in doing so.
For you that means: you build in-demand, future-proof skills, stay in your job and usually pay nothing. The exact funding amount depends on your company's size and is determined case by case by the Employment Agency.
[ funding amount ]
Through the QCG you usually upskill at no cost to yourself – the funding runs via your employer. The exact amount is determined by the Employment Agency.
In small companies (up to 50 employees), up to 100 % of the training cost can be covered under the case-by-case assessment – with no personal contribution from you.
In addition, a subsidy of up to 75 % towards your wages during the training is possible – so your income stays secure while you learn.
You upskill alongside work, stay in your company and apply what you learn directly – no job change, no gap in your CV.
[ requirements ]
For funding under the QCG to be possible, a few requirements must be met. Whether it applies in your case is assessed by the Employment Agency together with your employer.
At the time of application you are in an employment relationship subject to social insurance contributions.
The training takes place at an AZAV-accredited provider – such as us. Only then is funding possible.
The measure must not be legally required and must go beyond mere adaptation training – it should raise your long-term labour-market prospects.
If a measure has already been funded under the QCG, it must be at least two years ago before funding is possible again.
